  • Why Choose an Oramor Kitten?

Kittens are full of energy and curiosity. They are often more adaptable than older cats, making them a great choice for families. Here are some reasons why adopting a kitten can be a wonderful decision: Playfulness : Kittens love to play! They will chase after toys, pounce on your feet, and explore every nook and cranny of your home. Their playful nature can provide endless entertainment for both kids and adults. Bonding Opportunities : Kittens are often more open to forming bonds with their new families. They are eager to learn and explore, which can create a strong connection between you and your new pet. Training Potential : Kittens are like sponges! They can learn quickly and adapt to your household routines. This makes it easier to train them on litter box use and basic commands. Health Benefits : Studies show that having a pet can reduce stress and anxiety. The presence of a playful kitten can bring joy and comfort to your home. Companionship : Kittens can be great companions. They provide love and affection, which can be especially beneficial for children and seniors. Preparing Your Home for an Oramor Burmese or Siamese Kitten Before bringing a kitten home, it is essential to prepare your space. Here are some steps to ensure a smooth transition: Create a Safe Space : Designate a quiet area in your home where your kitten can feel safe. This could be a cozy corner with a bed, toys, and a litter box. Kitten-Proof Your Home : Kittens are naturally curious. Make sure to remove any hazards, such as small objects they could swallow, toxic plants, or electrical cords they might chew on. Gather Supplies : Before your kitten arrives, gather the necessary supplies. You will need: A litter box and litter Food and water dishes Kitten food Toys for playtime Bedding for your kitten A scratching post Introduce Family Members : If you have other pets, introduce them slowly. This will help everyone adjust to the new addition. Supervise their interactions until you are confident they can coexist peacefully. Plan for Vet Visits : Schedule a visit to the veterinarian for a health check-up. Vaccinations and spaying or neutering are important for your kitten's health. The First Few Days with Your New Kitten The first few days with your new kitten are crucial for building trust and comfort. Here are some tips to help your kitten settle in: Give Them Time : Allow your kitten to explore their new environment at their own pace. They may hide at first, which is normal. Establish a Routine : Kittens thrive on routine. Feed them at the same times each day and create a consistent playtime schedule. Play and Interact : Spend time playing with your kitten! Use toys like feather wands or balls to engage their natural hunting instincts. This will help them bond with you. Be Patient : Every kitten has a unique personality. Some may be more outgoing, while others may take time to warm up. Be patient and let them come to you. Fun Activities to Enjoy with Your Kitten Once your kitten has settled in, it is time to enjoy some fun activities together. Here are a few ideas: Interactive Play : Use toys that encourage your kitten to chase and pounce. This not only provides exercise but also stimulates their mind. Training Sessions : Teach your kitten simple commands like "sit" or "come." Use treats as rewards to encourage good behavior. Exploration Time : Create a safe space for your kitten to explore. Supervised outdoor time can be exciting for them, but make sure they are in a secure area. Cuddle Time : Kittens love to snuggle! Spend quiet time together, allowing your kitten to curl up on your lap or beside you. Health and Nutrition for Your Kitten Taking care of your kitten's health is essential for their growth and happiness. Here are some key points to consider: Quality Food : Choose high-quality kitten food that meets their nutritional needs. Kittens require more protein and calories than adult cats. Regular Vet Visits : Schedule regular check-ups with your veterinarian. This will help monitor your kitten's growth and catch any health issues early. Vaccinations : Keep your kitten up to date on vaccinations. This protects them from common diseases. Dental Care : Start dental care early. Brush your kitten's teeth and provide dental treats to promote good oral health. Socialization and Behaviour Socializing your kitten is crucial for their development. Here are some tips to help them become well-adjusted adults: Expose Them to Different Environments : Gradually introduce your kitten to various sounds, sights, and experiences. This can include meeting new people, other pets, and different environments. Positive Reinforcement : Use positive reinforcement to encourage good behavior. Reward your kitten with treats or praise when they exhibit desired behaviors. Monitor Playtime : Kittens can get overly excited during play. Monitor their interactions to ensure they do not become too aggressive. The Joy of Having an Oramor Kitten Adopting a playful kitten can bring immense joy to your family! Their playful antics and loving nature create lasting memories. Here are some heartwarming benefits of having a kitten: Unconditional Love : Kittens offer companionship and affection. Their purring can be soothing and comforting. Family Bonding : Caring for a kitten can bring families closer together. Everyone can participate in feeding, playing, and training. Laughter and Fun : Kittens are natural entertainers! Their playful behavior can bring laughter and joy to your home. Life Lessons : Caring for a pet teaches responsibility and empathy, especially for children. It can be a valuable learning experience. Disclaimer: Not my text -  Sharing "I Visited You Today… One More Time"  ~ From Your Forever Love, Waiting Beyond the Rainbow Bridge 🌈🐾  You didn’t see me, but I was there.  I curled in the patch of sunlight that fell just like it used to on our favourite napping spot. I brushed against your leg when you stood still—just a whisper, like the ghost of a purr you used to feel. Did you shiver when I passed? That was me.  I watched you today. You picked up my old toy from under the couch and held it a little too long. (I knew you kept it. Sentimental human.) I tried to tell you: It’s okay. I’m still here. So I sent the breeze to rustle the curtains—the way I always did when I wanted you to open them for me.  I visited because:  - Your tears taste like love, and I wanted to lick them away like I used to. (But now, I let the wind dry them instead.)  - The house is too quiet, so I knocked over your pen when you weren’t looking. Old habits.  - You whispered my name, and oh—how my heart leapt. I remember. I always will.  I stayed until you smiled at my photo on your desk. That’s when I knew you felt me. Cats are excellent at goodbyes… but even better at never really leaving.  So tonight, if your blankets tuck themselves around you a little cozier than usual? If you dream of rumbling purrs and soft fur? That’s me.  I’m just loving you from further away now.  Wait for me in the sunbeams, my favourite human.  —Your Cat, Always Yours ❤️  🐾 P.S. The butterfly that landed on your hand earlier? That was absolutely me. Stop crying. (Okay, fine… cry a little. Then go eat tuna in my honor.) Not by me. Just saw this and thought it may comfort some 🖤 Eternal Pawprints......🤍 💗💞 Though you have gone beyond my reach, Soft pawprints linger on my heart. In dreams, I see you close once more, A quiet ghost who will not part. You perch beside me as I sleep, Your silent purr a gentle balm. In whispered shadows, still you keep A watchful eye, serene and calm. Through every day, in every breeze, I feel your spirit near and strong— A friend who left yet never left, A love that lingers, soft and long. No longer flesh, yet here you stay, A flicker in the fading light. My heart holds close the joy we knew— My sweet companion, warm and bright. By #patzmeow ================ I heard your purr in the evening light, A gentle hum, so soft, so bright. But when I reached to stroke your fur, Only memories lingered there. Nine lives you danced through, bold and free, A shadow, a spirit, a mystery. Leaps of grace and emerald eyes, Now chasing dreams in endless skies. The final nap, so deep, so wide, Carried you to the other side. Where sunbeams stretch and soft winds call, And endless love awaits you all. No cage, no pain, just fields to roam, A warm embrace, a loving home. And though you're gone, you’re always near, A whisper, a purr—I’ll always hear. ANON A Letter from the Rainbow Bridge Hi, Mum, Dad, Now that I’ve been across The Rainbow Bridge for a couple weeks, they said I should write a letter home. Sorry, Mum but I’m so busy ‘across the bridge’ that I haven’t thought of home much. They said it’s okay and that you would understand. I hope you do. (I think you will.) Remember that night when I wasn’t feeling very well and we were all crying? I don’t remember much, but I do remember seeing and hearing all of you and feeling your touches and hugs…I remember hearing “we love you” and that one last command of “Go through”. I didn’t know what you meant, so I turned around and walked through the fog that was in front of me. I saw the biggest bridge I’ve ever seen! And so many friends on the other side of it! They were all playing with toys and balls! You were right to tell me to go there! My feet kept moving forward, but my heart kept pulling me back. Your touches became lighter and lighter and I wanted to come back and nudge your hands for more love, but I was overcome by this feeling of curiosity for the happy place over the bridge! My feet started moving on their own, like a gentle breeze was moving them forward for me! I can’t explain it, but I had no doubt that it was the right thing to do! So, I walked across that big, huge bridge by myself! I looked for you, because you’re always by my side, walking with me, but this was different. I didn’t have a collar around my neck or a leash connecting me to you ~ I was ‘free’! Even though you weren’t there with me, I never felt alone! I actually felt like I had a huge cape of love wrapped around my body and the more I walked, the easier it was to breathe! So, I kept walking! And I would feel more warmth in the big hug, so I kept on walking! I eventually made it over the big bridge – I did it by myself, mom. When I got here, all of my new friends greeted me and helped me walk off the bridge ~ it was so cool! They gave me a pair of wings and said that I was now a Guardian Angel! What I’ve learned over these past few weeks has been amazing and nothing like I’ve seen before! We’re all the same up here ~ we all have wings and we all have Forever People to watch over ~ that’s YOU, mum !You’re my Forever Person and I’m your Forever Dog! We had such a great life together and I do miss you a LOT, but please know that I am so happy in my new home across The Bridge! I’ll send you another Earth Angel so you won’t be alone. Give them your whole heart, like you gave it to me. I’ll check in every so often to make sure they treasure your love ~ I always did! When you miss me, think of a rainbow and know I’m on the other side of it, waiting to walk with you again. I’ll always be in your heart. I love you, mom! Time for me to go play... Credit: Charles Putney    ================== You trusted me with your life…Anon You trusted me with your life…and I had to choose when to let you rest. That’s a kind of pain words can’t fully heal 🌈I carry the weight of that choice every day. The quiet moments replay themselves—the prayers whispered through tears, the hope that stayed a little longer than it should, the love that refused to let go 🕊️ I didn’t want to say goodbye. I wanted more time. More ordinary days. More familiar routines. More moments where your presence made everything feel okay 🤍 Letting you rest wasn’t giving up. It was the last act of love I could give you, even though it shattered me. held your pain so you wouldn’t have to anymore, and that decision will forever live inside my heart 🐾Some people will never understand this kind of grief. The kind that comes from loving so deeply that your heart breaks twice—once when you lose them, and again when you remember you had to be the one to say it was time 🌙I miss you in ways that surprise me. In the quiet of the house. In habits I still catch myself doing. In moments when my heart reaches for you before my mind remembers you’re gone 🍃But even now, I feel you. Not just as a memory, but as a presence that walks beside me. In every breath I take. In every tear that falls. In every moment I choose love over bitterness ✨You walked that rainbow path, but you didn’t leave me behind. You took a piece of my heart with you and left your love behind to guide me home 🌈🤍If love alone could have saved you, you would have lived forever. And if love could bring you back, I would run that road without hesitation. Until we meet again, rest softly. You were my greatest responsibility, my deepest love, and my forever friend 🐾🤍

  • How Your Vet Sees Euthanasia.....

Disclaimer: Sharing. Not my text. How Your Vet Sees Euthanasia..... So, you bring me this puppy - she kisses my face, devours the cookies I offer, and our friendship starts.  Several visits later, he starts to learn where all the cookie jars are in the clinic, and that lady in the white coat, well she’s okay.... Fast forward many visits later, now I am in love with your dog and your whole family because, well, you are just really really good people and I have not only watched that pup turn into a really sweet family member, but I got to watch the kids grow every year and be a very small part of your journey.  Remember that time she ate your teenage daughter’s thong underwear?  😝😝😝 yeah we all had a good laugh over that once surgery was done and she was recovered. Your daughter probably never forgave me for bagging that up and showing the whole fam-jam when they came to pick her up from the clinic.  So many adventures, so little time..... And here we are, fifteen or so odd years later, having to say goodbye.  He’s got heart disease and I can’t fix it anymore. She’s got cancer and there is no cure.  He has arthritis and the meds just aren’t working.  I want her to live forever for you. I want that so badly it hurts.  I feel like I have failed him and you when I have run out of options to keep them, and you, comfortable and happy.   So now it’s time, and I am supposed to be professional.  Objective. I am the doctor. Calm. Cool. Collected. Always under control. F~*k that.  I have known you and her for a third of my life, and most of my professional career.  But I keep it together.  My superhuman amazing technicians have put the catheter in. My support staff from reception to assistants have done all the paperwork. Trust me they may not show it but their hearts are breaking for you. They have been there.  They know.  And they know you and care about you too.  And I have the needle in the pocket of my white coat. The same pocket that was always full of treats for him.  I take a deep yoga breath and come into the room. Gotta stay strong now....... She’s giving me that sweet look she always does, the one that is followed by puppy kisses and a glance at the cookie jar.  But she is too weak now. She is ready. You are not. I am not. But this shit has to happen because we love her too much to let her suffer. She would keep going as long as we asked her too.  But we can’t ask her to anymore. It’s not fair to her.  I wish our human hearts could be so giving all the time. I wish I could be the person my dog thinks I am. I wish I wish i wish I could find a way for them to live forever.  But I don’t have those magical powers. I am just a Vet.  So we kiss him back, not much left of his body that still works, but that old tail wags, just enough that I lose my shit on the inside but I try not to cry.  Gotta stay strong.  Her body relaxes, she is in your arms and your are sobbing.  Another family has lost one of its most cherished members. I put my stethoscope to her heart to make sure it has stopped but she is held so tight to your chest that maybe that is your heart I hear pounding or maybe it’s mine and all the blood rushing through my ears as I try so so so hard not to turn into a blubbering mess.  Confirmed, he has passed. You lay him gently on the table and we hug tightly as you go to leave.  The door closes behind you and I don’t know if you hear this, but I sob hysterically into your pets ear.  She is gone, he will be missed, and you have to face what I know will be one of the hardest parts of today.  Entering that house and they are not there to greet you.  Please know that I know how you feel. As you leave the clinic I just wish with every fibre of my being that you never had to face that.  I wish they could live forever.  And please know, I am so grateful that I was a small part of your journey.  Love always,   Your vet.

  • CATS ARE NATURAL HEALERS

Just sharing: Not my words. Sleep in a bed with a cat? The health effects are staggering... Cats can sense when you need help. Oramor Blue Burmese Kitten If they wander all the way to your bed, or if they're always taking up room on the couch, know that they're just relieving you of negative energy. They have a special ability to detect magnetic fields, which is why it is recommended to put the bed where the cat spends more time and feels comfortable. The cat is able to compensate for the physical and mental energy deficits of its owner. Research has shown that families with cats have a much lower incidence of disease, a more balanced atmosphere in the house and a more harmonious living environment. Cats can sense when you are in pain. Don't be surprised if your cat settles down exactly where it hurts. If your stomach hurts, your head hurts or your neck is tense, your favourite animal will most certainly linger on this area. Don't chase it away, be patient and let it flood you with healing energy. After a while the pain will decrease and you will feel much better. Cats are excellent masters of bioenergetics, they can sense exactly when there is a problem somewhere, and therefore they try to balance the energies in a short time. They can sense the human aura, are amazing neurologists, psychologists, but are also excellent at "curing" physical illnesses. They alleviate anxiety, depressive symptoms and bring calm to the whole house and its owner. Cardiovascular "doctors" Cats are excellent cardiologists. People with hypertension can therefore consider sharing their life with a small, soft purr on all fours. People who have cats are much calmer, more balanced and their blood pressure problems are reduced. American research shows that the risk of heart attack is reduced by 30 to 40% in cat owners. Cats often sit on people's chests because they sense a problem and are quick to use their healing skills. This is how they prevent heart attacks. Female cats have much stronger bioenergetics than male cats, and are more effective at reducing symptoms of mental and internal disorders ... 🐈❤️ When a cat falls out of a tree! When a cat falls out of a tree, it lets go of itself. The cat becomes completely relaxed, and lands lightly on the ground. But if a cat were about to fall out of a tree and suddenly made up its mind that it didn't want to fall, it would become tense and rigid, and would be just a bag of broken bones upon landing. In the same way, it is the philosophy of the Tao that we are all falling off a tree, at every moment of our lives. As a matter of fact, the moment we were born we were kicked off a precipice and we are falling, and there is nothing that can stop it. So instead of living in a state of chronic tension, and clinging to all sorts of things that are actually falling with us because the whole world is impermanent, be like a cat.~Alan Watts

  • CATS DON'T FOLLOW JUST ANYONE

Cats don’t follow just anyone. They sense energy, not words. So when a cat chooses to walk beside you, it’s never an accident. It means your presence feels calm, your silence feels kind, and your energy feels safe. You may not notice it, but to them, you are comfort, you are trust, you are home. 🐾✨

  • It’s Crazy the Things Cats Miss by Being Kept Inside! of Living -

Oramor Blue Burmese Ju st so you know, I am not a cat that really gets out and about much. I spend most – if not all – of my time here at home, keeping a handle on things. It’s my job. I am the COC of the house – Chief Operating Cat.  It’s a demanding job, but someone has to do it!     At any rate, I really don’t mind being inside all the time. It truly does have its benefits, especially since I am a cat. I know…dogs love to get outside and roam about, create mischief, take a poop in front of the neighbors, etc. Cats are not like that, and in reality we prefer to be inside.   However, there are a few things we miss out on being kept inside, and here is a condensed list, provided by orangeolivevet.com : We miss being hit by a car. We miss being chased by dogs. We miss being caught in an animal trap. We miss rain, cold and wind. We miss being bitten by a snake. We miss being stolen and used for dog bait. We miss being caught in a car engine or in the garage. We miss complaints and threats from neighbors. We miss being eaten by wild animals. We miss fleas, ticks, worms and parasites. We miss exposure to disease from other animals. We miss our collar getting hung up on a fence. We miss curling up on your lap and enjoying your company. So, please….keep your cats indoors. It is so much safer!  Just look at me…I stay inside but am on top of the world! Woohoo!

  • Advantages of Desexing your Cat

Altering:   Oramor Seal Point & Lilac Siamese Unless they are to be bred, the young cat should be altered, otherwise, the female will cycle in and out of heat every other week for up to three months, go out for a few months, and then start all over again. The strongest drive in the adult male is to mate; if he is kept from it, he will be terribly frustrated. The Problem I cannot emphasize enough the importance of spaying or neutering your cat or kitten. Thousands of homeless cats and kittens are born each year and are either euthanized or left to fend for themselves on the city streets. It has been calculated that one un-spayed female cat and her offspring can produce, in a seven-year period, 420,000 kittens. Abandoned cats lead short, turbulent lives and face death from freezing weather, automobiles, disease, and starvation. Even if turned into a shelter, only a small proportion of all cats and dogs each year are adopted; the rest are euthanized. PLEASE do your part by having your kitten or puppy spayed or neutered, or adopt a shelter cat or dog and give them the loving home they deserve. The Advantages of Spaying and Neutering Your Cat The advantages of spaying or neutering your cat are many. These include the following: Preventing litters of kittens can help save the lives of kittens already born that do not have homes. Over 8 million cats and dogs are euthanized every year in the U.S. alone because animal shelters and humane societies do not have the facilities to accommodate all homeless pets. Letting a cat have even one litter of kittens simply adds to the numbers. In addition to helping control pet overpopulation, sterilizing cats helps eliminate the problems associated with overpopulation: large numbers of stray and feral cats that die of starvation or are caught and sold for animal testing, nuisance cat problems, such as spraying and defecating, and incidences of cruelty to cats.   Spaying and neutering reduces the risk of cats contracting diseases of the reproductive tract. Spayed cats are also much less likely to contract cancer of the mammary glands. On the average, sterilized cats live two to three years longer than do intact cats. Owners of female cats can avoid the problems that arise when cats go into heat, such as crying, bleeding, escaping outdoors and possibly disappearing for good - by having their cats spayed. Having male cats castrated helps reduce or eliminate certain behavior's, such as roaming, spraying and aggression, and the risks associated with these behaviors', such as injury or death resulting from encounters with automobiles or fights with other cats. Relieving cats of their hormonal drives allows them to relax and live more comfortable lives. Because a cat is more likely to become affectionate and friendly when not under the influence of sex hormones, it will be a better, more contented pet. For instance, statistics show that spayed and neutered cats are less likely to bite than are intact cats. Some local Councils have differential animal licensing programs, in which the fees for licensing pets are based on whether or not the pets have been spayed or neutered. (Taken from Cat Fancy Magazine, Feb., 1990 edition - author: W. Bradford Swift, D.V.M.) Breeding Ethics:- Responsible Breeders produce well adjusted kittens. Kitten mill breeders, those breeding to make a quick sale to an unknowing buyer, often produce very inferior specimens.   The kittens are often so sickly that they have to be put down, and the queens are so over-bred and debilitated that they die prematurely at a young age. Breeding, “just to see what comes out”, show very little sensitivity or regard for life. One has only to visit the local RSPCA or Animal Refuge to see a large number of beautiful kittens up for adoption because their owners satisfied their curiosity irresponsibly. Conscientious breeders do not allow their animals to be bred to cats of unknown quality as regards health, temperament and type.  The cost involved in breeding even inferior cats sold cheaply leaves only a small profit from the sale of the kittens. This should not even be considered as a way of making money.  But, unfortunately, some people only realize this after their unrewarding personal experience. Because money is the primary goal of mass-production breeders, they often miss the joy and excitement that comes with responsible breeding. The goal of every breeder should be to produce cats of the highest quality in temperament, hardiness and confirmation. Ethical breeders do not allow carriers of a serious fault to be bred.                                                        Oramor Lilac Burmese Kitten Advantages of Desexing Your Cat Location: #Oramor #Burmese and #Siamese #KittensMaryborough QLD 4650, Australia
