Our Kitten Biosecurity & Visiting Policy
At Oramor Kittens, the health, safety and wellbeing of our kittens, their mothers and our entire cattery family will always come first.
As professional Burmese and Siamese kitten breeders with more than 40 years of experience, we are proud to have never experienced a cat flu outbreak on our property. This record has been achieved through rigorous, consistent biosecurity practices—not by chance—and by maintaining those standards without exception.
We completely understand that choosing a kitten is an important and exciting decision. Naturally, prospective families wish to be confident that they are dealing with a genuine, caring and responsible breeder. We welcome this. Our policies, the condition and development of our kittens, our website updates and our testimonials are all intended to help you make that decision with confidence.
At the same time, the process of placing an Oramor kitten is a mutual one. While you are assessing whether OraMor is the right breeder for you, we are also assessing whether a prospective home is the right fit for one of our much-loved premium kittens.
No Visitors to the Cattery or Property
To maintain the biosecurity standards that have protected our kittens for decades, Oramor Kittens does not permit visitors to the property or cattery at any stage.

Our no-visitors and no-handling policy is non-negotiable and applies without exception.
We appreciate that some people may find this different from what they have experienced elsewhere. However, it is a deliberate and essential part of our responsible breeding programme and indeed a point of difference highlighting the superior choice in electing to purchase an Oramor kitten.
Our priority is never convenience; it is the lifelong health and welfare of the kittens entrusted to our care.
Why This Policy Is So Important
Young kittens have developing immune systems and can be particularly vulnerable to infection.
Even the most considerate visitor who feels entirely well—and who does not own a cat—may unknowingly carry infectious organisms or contaminants on their hands, clothes, shoes, bags, vehicle or other personal belongings.
Australia’s biosecurity systems recognise that diseases and pests can be transported unintentionally by people, equipment, vehicles, soil and materials. Quarantine and movement controls are routinely used across the country to protect animals, agriculture and the environment. The same common-sense principle applies in a carefully managed cattery.
A person does not need to own a cat to present a potential risk.
Germs or contaminants can be encountered at

veterinary clinics,

pet stores,

animal shelters,
-
friends’ homes,
-
farms,
-
public spaces, or
-
anywhere animals and
-
animal-related materials
may have been present.
Footwear, in particular, can carry soil or other material into an otherwise protected environment.
While any individual risk may be small, we are not prepared to take that risk with young kittens, pregnant queens or the wider OraMor cattery family.
As a future kitten parent, we know you would not want anyone to unintentionally bring illness into your kitten’s environment. This is exactly why we uphold this policy so carefully.
Following Your Kitten’s Journey. Photos of your specific kitten
Although visits are not possible, prospective families can enjoy following each litter’s progress through regular photographs, videos and updates published on our website.
Our Burmese and Siamese kittens are raised to the same high standard and, particularly during their early weeks, may look very similar apart from their base colour and developing markings.
Their colour at birth and throughout early development can also change considerably as their coats mature and their true colour emerges.
For this reason, early photographs are not a reliable guide to exactly how a particular kitten will look as an adult.
We invite you to view our special kitten showcase, which provides a much better indication of the beautiful colour, type and overall appearance our Oramor kittens develop as they mature.
The photographs and updates on our website are intended to show the litter’s overall growth, health and development.
Taking, editing and sending individual progress photographs of particular kittens is not practical while kittens are young and changing rapidly.
More importantly, it takes valuable time away from what matters most:

gentle socialisation,

careful health monitoring,

maintaining an exceptionally clean environment, and

ensuring every kitten is well fed, content and thriving.
As we regularly publish the best available photographs and updates online, we kindly ask prospective owners to refer to the website rather than request additional private or individual photographs. This allows our time and attention to remain focused where it belongs—on the kittens themselves.
Your Kitten Is Safely Reserved
Once your deposit has been received and a kitten has been allocated, that specific kitten is reserved for you and you alone. You can follow the litter’s updates with confidence, knowing that your chosen kitten is safely held for their future home.
When your kitten is ready to leave for their new family, you will have the special in-person moment you have been waiting for—when your beautiful Oramor kitten can safely be placed in your arms. This is the moment you have been waiting for. This is the moment we have spent months in preparation for. To provide you with the ultimate Oramor kitten.
A Shared Commitment to High Standards
We respectfully ask all prospective owners to understand that our biosecurity requirements are a core condition of purchasing an Oramor kitten. They are not rules that can be negotiated, amended for individual circumstances or worked around.
Questions asked respectfully are always welcome.
However, repeated attempts to seek an exception, create an alternative arrangement or bypass these protections indicate that our breeding philosophy and your expectations may not be aligned.
In those circumstances, we would respectfully suggest that a premium level Oramor kitten may not be the right fit for you.
There are many other avenues through which to find a companion cat, including shelters, rescues and breeders whose visiting arrangements may better suit individual preferences. Our approach is specifically designed for families who value and support the strict health, hygiene and biosecurity standards behind every Oramor kitten.
This policy is not about being impersonal. Quite the contrary.
It is one of the clearest demonstrations of our commitment to raising healthy, protected and beautifully cared-for kittens.
We also make personal sacrifices to maintain these standards, limiting social activity at our property and ensuring visitors are not brought into the cattery environment.
